When are torsion springs necessary?

Torsion garage door springs are designed to lift heavier door panels and that's why the experts of our garage door company in Maywood recommend checking the weight of the door before purchasing springs. Heavy doors usually need one or two torsion springs to lift the door.

Why must I check the weather seals often?

The weather seals at the bottom, top and sides of the garage door ensure that no air drafts come into the garage insulating the whole house properly. Replace the bottom seal often because it is worn easier and the small gap may invite insects in.

How do I clean very rusty garage door parts?

You should use steel wool to scrape off the rust. Then you have to use appropriate solvent, such as a citrus-based product, to give the parts their gloss back. Our specialists recommend the application of protective lubricant right after the cleaning.

What happens if sensors are not calibrated?

If the sensors are not calibrated, then the response of your automatic garage door might be delayed or not effective at all. It usually starts being out of sync making delays last longer than usual. Recalibrating and a few adjustments should fix the problem. Realigning the sensor position also helps.
